On Thursday, Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, approved a transformative action plan to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) education for students from classes 8 to 12. This initiative, aimed at modernizing school education, will also include vocational training in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries. During a review meeting in Bhopal, Yadav stressed that education should extend beyond textbooks, equipping students with practical skills and knowledge necessary for contributing to society and the economy. The program is set to launch on June 16, 2026, and officials have been directed to ensure all preparations are completed by then. Additionally, the meeting endorsed the 'Shiksha Ghar Yojana' to assist students who have dropped out after Class 8 in completing their education. Yadav highlighted the importance of recognizing schools with exceptional academic performance, proposing public honors for those achieving high examination results. The Education Department reported a notable increase in enrollment, with Class 1 experiencing a 32.4% rise compared to the previous year, and Classes 9 to 12 showing a 4.25% increase, indicating a positive trend in student engagement.
