A tragic incident unfolded in Siddharthnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, when five teenagers climbed a dilapidated overhead water tank around 2:30 PM on Sunday to film a social media reel. As they attempted to descend around 6 PM, the rusted iron ladder collapsed, resulting in three of them falling. Siddharth (13) died from severe head injuries, while Pawan (13) and Golu sustained critical injuries and are being treated at Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College. The Indian Air Force (IAF) was called in to rescue the two remaining boys, Shani (11) and Kallu (14), who were airlifted in a nine-minute operation. The district administration had previously assessed the tank's condition and deemed a rescue operation risky. Local residents reported that the tank had been in disrepair for a long time, raising concerns about infrastructure safety. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
