The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is advancing its traffic decongestion plans by constructing underpasses at two major intersections: Dadi Sati Chowk and Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk. These junctions, which connect the Dwarka Expressway, Delhi-Jaipur Highway, Gurugram-Pataudi Road, and IMT Manesar, experience heavy traffic with over 50,000 vehicles daily, especially during peak hours. The GMDA plans to complement these underpasses with three-lane flyovers at both locations. A ₹40 crore (approximately $4.8 million USD) tender for the flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk has already been issued, with construction expected to commence shortly. Meanwhile, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the flyover at Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk is set to be completed next month. A consultant has been appointed to conduct feasibility surveys for the underpasses, with the DPR and feasibility assessment anticipated within a month. According to Abhinav Verma, executive engineer at GMDA, the underpass at Dadi Sati Chowk will facilitate traffic from the Delhi-Jaipur Highway to Gurugram-Pataudi Road, while the underpass at Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk will connect the Jaipur Highway to Pataudi Road.
