The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) awarded the Palnadu district police in Andhra Pradesh, India, for their outstanding performance in recovering lost mobile phones. At a ceremony held in Mangalagiri, Palnadu police, led by Superintendent of Police B. Krishna Rao, achieved first place by recovering 4,303 phones, representing 69.75% of the lost devices reported. The NTR Commissionerate, under Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, secured second place with 2,929 recoveries (64%), while Eluru district police, led by Superintendent K. Pratap Shiva Kishore, came third with 2,796 recoveries (62.18%). The awards highlight the effectiveness of the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) platform in aiding law enforcement agencies in tracking and recovering lost mobile devices.
