Anthropic is currently negotiating with the US and allied democracies, including India, regarding access to its advanced AI model, Claude Mythos, before its public launch. Despite its potential, Anthropic has withheld a broader release due to concerns over cybersecurity risks. Indian tech industry body Nasscom has formally requested inclusion in Project Glasswing, which currently grants early access to 40 US companies, including tech giants like Microsoft and Google, to help them identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. The Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is also involved in discussions with Anthropic to secure access for Indian firms. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has convened meetings with banking leaders to assess the unprecedented cybersecurity risks posed by Mythos, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance and coordination across financial institutions.
