While there may be occasional light to moderate rainfall, it is unlikely to provide significant relief from the oppressive heat. The 'feels-like' temperature could exceed actual readings, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly among vulnerable groups such as outdoor workers, the elderly, and children. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid direct sunlight during peak hours. The Regional Meteorological Centre has warned that these uncomfortable conditions will persist across coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, including Puducherry and Karaikal, at least until May 2. Farmers and fishermen are also urged to monitor weather updates closely due to potential thunderstorms.
