The party has won 108 out of 234 seats but requires 10 more MLAs to achieve the majority needed to govern. Governor RV Arlekar remains skeptical about the TVK's capability to form a stable administration, having requested Vijay to demonstrate his majority before being sworn in as chief minister. The Congress party has already committed to supporting the TVK, contributing five additional MLAs. Furthermore, the TVK has reached out to potential allies, including the lone winning candidate from the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) and smaller parties like the VCK and Left outfits, who are set to convene for discussions.
