The National Commission for Women (NCW) has criticized Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for its toxic work culture at the Nashik office, where pervasive harassment and systemic bullying were reported. A fact-finding committee revealed that many victims faced significant barriers to reporting incidents due to a lack of formal complaint mechanisms and a trustworthy environment. The report highlighted that nine FIRs have been registered for serious offenses, including rape and sexual harassment, leading to the arrest of nine individuals. The NCW's 50-page report, submitted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, included 25 recommendations aimed at improving workplace safety and compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act. The committee found that the accused individuals had significant control over the office and targeted vulnerable employees, creating a hostile atmosphere. Key recommendations from the NCW include implementing effective HR systems, job protection for complainants, and regular monitoring of workplace safety.
