The Gurugram bench of the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) has directed two developers to deliver flats to homebuyers and pay interest for delayed possession. In an order issued on April 7, HRERA mandated that the developers pay interest at 10.80% per annum on the amount paid by the complainants, calculated from the promised possession date of June 7, 2015, until the actual handover or offer of possession. This decision followed complaints from two allottees who had paid ₹1.79 crore for their flats but had not received possession. They also alleged that the developers unilaterally increased the super area and demanded additional payments. Pankaj Yadav, the counsel for the homebuyers, confirmed that the buyers received relief and compensation through this order. The developers, however, claimed they had not yet received the HRERA order and stated that the project was completed and flats were handed over to buyers.
