In a shocking murder case in Chennai, police have discovered the dismembered body of Ameer Ali, 35, originally from Assam. His torso was found in a suitcase at Perambur railway station three days prior to the latest findings. The head was located near Kolavai lake in Chengalpet, while the limbs were found wrapped in a plastic cover in Buckingham Canal, Teynampet. The investigation led to the arrest of Ameer’s wife, Rahima Khatun, 30, and her boyfriend, Ashraf, who reportedly confessed to the crime. They claimed that marital disputes prompted them to murder Ameer, administering a sedative before slitting his throat and dismembering his body. Police traced Ameer’s identity through a barcode on his trousers, which linked them to a clothing store in T Nagar, where they retrieved his mobile number. Further analysis of call records and location data led to Rahima, who worked as a caregiver at a private cancer hospital. The inquiry also revealed evidence from plastic bags commonly used at the hospital, prompting police to question staff and examine transport service records, ultimately leading to the arrests. The investigation continues as police await test results to confirm the identity of the body parts.
