In a significant development, Jugal Kishore Bishnoi, a nominated director of the Rajasthan State Seeds Corporation, along with five accomplices, has been placed in the custody of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) until June 12. This follows their arrest in connection with a ₹2.5 crore bribery case involving a seed company under regulatory scrutiny. The ACB's investigation revealed that Bishnoi and his associates allegedly accepted the bribe to influence official proceedings against the company, which faced action after a government inspection led to the seizure of its Gajraj-brand groundnut seeds. During the operation, the ACB recovered approximately ₹2.44 crore, including ₹85 lakh from Swatanra Bishnoi, who was apprehended while transporting the cash. Further searches at Bishnoi's residence yielded an additional ₹1.58 crore. The ACB is now exploring whether other officials or intermediaries were part of this corruption scheme, emphasizing their commitment to pursuing legal actions against all involved parties.
