The Indian Railways has given the green light for two crucial infrastructure projects in Northwest Delhi aimed at reducing traffic congestion. The projects include the widening of the Railway Overbridge (ROB) at Haiderpur-Badli on the Outer Ring Road and the construction of an elevated loop connecting Shalimar Bagh with Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. The ROB widening is expected to alleviate congestion at Mukarba Chowk, one of the city's busiest intersections, which experiences heavy traffic from passenger vehicles and goods carriers. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the Public Works Department (PWD) submitted the plans, which were deemed technically feasible by the Railways. The approved projects will enhance connectivity and reduce travel time in the area. Gupta emphasized the government's commitment to creating a modern and efficient transport network in Delhi, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support.
