On April 30, 2023, Uttarakhand faced severe weather conditions, including rain and hailstorms. Mussoorie, a popular hill station, recorded 52.3 mm of rainfall, while the upper reaches of Pithoragarh district received fresh snowfall. Other areas like Jainti in Almora district saw 31.5 mm of rain, and Satpuli recorded 29 mm. Rainfall figures may be adjusted as precipitation continued into the evening. The meteorological department has issued alerts for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds, particularly in the hilly regions, where light rain and snowfall are expected at altitudes above 4,200 metres. While maximum temperatures have been below normal, they are projected to increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius over the next few days, with Dehradun expected to reach around 35 degrees Celsius on Friday.
