This initiative, integrated with the existing HIM Atithi portal, is designed to provide affordable accommodation primarily for students traveling to Hamirpur for competitive examinations and educational activities. Himachali residents will be charged ₹100 per bed, while non-residents will pay ₹200. This move is part of a broader strategy that began in May 2025, allowing online bookings for government rest houses and circuit houses, requiring a 50% advance payment. The previous system has led to increased occupancy rates and enhanced government revenue, making these facilities more accessible to tourists, students, and other visitors. By improving transparency and convenience, the government aims to create a more citizen-friendly environment for those seeking lodging in the region.
