Nathan Hale School in Meriden, Connecticut, has been honored as one of the six 2026 Connecticut Blue Ribbon Schools, a distinction awarded by Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker. This recognition highlights schools that demonstrate high academic performance and foster inclusive, supportive learning environments. The Connecticut Blue Ribbon Schools Program, initiated in response to the discontinuation of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program, aims to celebrate educational excellence within the state. Nathan Hale School, which serves 463 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5, has consistently excelled, achieving School of Distinction status four times since 2018-19. The school boasts an impressive accountability index, with 84.4% of possible points earned in the 2024-25 assessment, placing it among the top 10% of elementary and middle schools statewide. This award reflects the collective efforts of educators, students, and families in creating a thriving educational environment. An awards recognition event is set for June 9 in West Hartford to honor all six schools.
