The United States government has unveiled a collection of previously classified files related to Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), following a directive from former President Donald Trump. This initiative aims to enhance transparency regarding investigations into extraterrestrial phenomena. The Pentagon released the first tranche of declassified documents, which encompass decades of investigations into unexplained aerial sightings. Among the materials are reports from NASA's Apollo missions, including observations made by astronaut Alan L. Bean during the 1969 Apollo 12 mission, where he noted mysterious flashes of light in space. Similarly, astronaut Harrison Schmitt from the 1972 Apollo 17 mission described seeing bright particles outside the spacecraft. US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that this release signifies the administration's commitment to unprecedented transparency in UAP investigations. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also welcomed the release, affirming the agency's dedication to being open about known facts and ongoing mysteries surrounding UAP.
