As of April 27, 2023, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder in India has risen by ₹60 since March, reflecting the ongoing geopolitical tensions surrounding the US-Iran conflict and its impact on fuel supplies. Meanwhile, the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has seen two price increases, totaling nearly ₹344. The Indian government has assured citizens that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel, urging the public to avoid panic buying and instead utilize digital booking platforms. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reported that over 51.8 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered on April 25, with a focus on ensuring supply to households. Priority for commercial LPG is being given to essential sectors such as healthcare and agriculture. The government has implemented measures to prevent diversion of supplies through Delivery Authentication Codes (DAC).
