The Madhya Pradesh High Court's vacation bench has deferred the hearing on petitions aimed at canceling the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh, a former district judge and mother-in-law of model Twisha Sharma, to May 27. The petitions were submitted by Navnidhi Sharma, Twisha's father, and the state government. The hearing was delayed as Singh's counsel, Meenakshi Arora, reported that she had not received a copy of the petition filed by Sharma. The court directed that the petition be shared with Singh's counsel and noted that if the grounds for bail cancellation differed, the pleas would be heard separately. The state government contends that Singh was granted bail on May 15 in a rushed manner and has not been cooperative with the investigation. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta expressed concerns that Singh might influence evidence while on bail. Twisha Sharma was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances on May 12, with her post-mortem conducted the following day. Singh applied for anticipatory bail on May 14 and received it the next day.
