The Bangalore Creative Circus (BCC) is set to host the 'Big 50,' marking the 50th edition of its monthly farmer carnival on June 6-7, 2023. Launched in February 2022, this event aims to connect conscious consumers with local farmers while promoting sustainable practices. Initially featuring around 20 stalls and attracting 100 to 150 visitors, the carnival has seen significant growth, now boasting over 30 stalls and drawing approximately 350 attendees. Co-founder Manisha Vinod emphasizes the importance of community, noting that many vendors, volunteers, and visitors return regularly, fostering collaboration and skill-sharing among local producers. For instance, a cacao producer learned chocolate-making from another vendor and began selling chocolates. Attendees can explore fresh produce, millet mixes, baked goods, upcycled clothing, and participate in workshops, traditional games, and crafting activities. The carnival will take place at the Bangalore Creative Circus in Yeshwanthpur, with free entry for all.
