On May 1, a shooting incident occurred at Prem Dhaba, located on Lalheri Road in Khanna, Punjab, India, leading to the arrest of five suspects. The attack was allegedly orchestrated by individuals demanding ₹1 crore (approximately $120,000 USD) in extortion. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Darpan Ahluwalia reported that extensive analysis of CCTV footage spanning nearly 150 km was instrumental in identifying the suspects. Among those arrested are Sahibjot Singh and Munish Sharma, who confessed during interrogation. Further investigations revealed that Parminder Singh, Amandeep Singh, and Vivek Singh assisted in the crime by providing weapons and hideouts. The police seized a .30-bore pistol, two live cartridges, and a stolen motorcycle from the suspects. The dhaba owner had previously received extortion calls from gangster Doni Bal and Shaganpreet Singh, who has ties to the slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
