A tragic accident occurred on Friday evening near Dhandari Bridge in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, when a tractor-trailer collided with a scooter, resulting in the deaths of two men. One of the victims, Anand Kumar, aged 40, was a resident of Patna, Bihar, and worked at a bicycle manufacturing unit in the area. Eyewitnesses stated that the trailer was allegedly traveling at high speed when it struck the Honda Activa scooter, causing both men to be fatally injured. The rear wheels of the trailer reportedly passed over their heads, killing them instantly. The second victim's identity remains unknown. Bystanders managed to detain the trailer driver as he attempted to flee the scene and handed him over to the police at the Jiwan Nagar police post. The bodies were taken to the civil hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations. The police are investigating the accident's cause and gathering statements from family members, while legal action against the driver is being initiated.
