Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, inaugurated the Adani Akhand Jyoti Eye Care Hospital in Mastichak, Saran district, Bihar, marking a significant advancement in rural healthcare infrastructure. This state-of-the-art facility is a collaboration between the Adani Foundation and Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, with a mission to eradicate curable blindness and provide high-quality, affordable eye care to underserved communities. The hospital will operate under the Adani Eye Care Project, which includes specialized centres for eye diseases and training in ophthalmic sciences.

Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital has a proven track record, having performed over 145,000 vision-restoring surgeries annually and serving more than 1.3 million patients. The new facility aims to expand its reach by offering free or subsidized treatments for various eye conditions, including cataracts and glaucoma. Additionally, the initiative will enhance the 'Football to Eyeball' Girls' Empowerment Programme, which trains rural teenage girls in optometry, fostering leadership and creating job opportunities. With this new hospital, the Adani Group and Akhand Jyoti are set to make a substantial impact on the fight against avoidable blindness in India.
