The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 results have revealed that 56,880 candidates have qualified, reflecting a 4.6% increase from the previous year. Shubham Kumar from Gaya, Bihar, achieved the highest score of 330 out of 360, while Arohi Deshpande from Pune emerged as the top female candidate, scoring 280 and ranking 16th overall. This year saw 46,773 men and 10,107 women qualify, marking a record for female participants. The qualified candidates will compete for 18,951 seats in 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling. IIT Roorkee, which conducted the exam, reported that the IIT Madras zone had the most successful candidates, with 14,294 qualifying. The director of IIT Roorkee, Kamal Kishore Pant, congratulated all candidates and encouraged participation in the counselling process, emphasizing that eligibility is based on Class 12 marks or percentile rankings.
