Vijay, the leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is set to take the oath of office as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at 11 AM on Saturday. His party achieved a remarkable victory in the recent assembly elections, winning 107 seats out of 234. With support from the Congress party (5 seats) and Left parties, including the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Vijay's coalition has secured a total of 119 seats, surpassing the halfway majority mark. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. This development signifies a major political shift in Tamil Nadu, diminishing the influence of the historically dominant Dravidian parties, the DMK and AIADMK. The new government is also anticipated to allocate ministerial positions to its alliance partners, with reports suggesting that the VCK will receive one Cabinet position and the Left parties will share two ministries.
