Calcutta University, located in Kolkata, has established guidelines for undergraduate students wishing to re-enter their programs after exiting at the end of the second, fourth, or sixth semesters. Under the four-year degree program, students who exited may continue with the same course and subjects, provided they have completed all prior semesters and tests. The new guidelines specify that re-entry will only be allowed in odd semesters, meaning semesters three and five for three-year courses, and semesters three, five, and seven for four-year courses. Students seeking to resume their studies must apply within three years of their exit and must have completed all previous semesters within a seven-year period from their first enrollment. The guidelines also clarify that eligible candidates may re-enter either their previous college or any other affiliated college, contingent on obtaining a permission letter from the UG Council. The university is also in the process of finalizing the final-year syllabus, anticipating a notable number of students opting to exit after the sixth semester.
