On Thursday, Pradeep Dahiya, the commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), conducted surprise inspections at over six locations throughout Gurugram, Haryana, India, to assess and improve the city's cleanliness standards. During these inspections, he issued strict directives for the immediate removal of waste from roadsides, green belts, and other prominent areas. Dahiya highlighted the urgency of clearing plastic waste, horticulture debris, and construction and demolition (C&D) waste. At Rajiv Chowk, he specifically instructed officials to address accumulated soil and debris along the roadside. He also reviewed sanitation efforts by the National Highways Authority of India and called for enhanced mechanized cleaning of national highways. The inspections spanned several major intersections, including Signature Tower Chowk and CRPF Chowk, where Dahiya reiterated that the city's cleanliness is non-negotiable. He urged all departments to collaborate effectively to ensure regular waste collection, road sweeping, and maintenance of green spaces, marking a significant step in MCG's ongoing efforts to enhance sanitation across the city.
