With the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for June 18, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the elections in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. The last date for nominations is June 8. Mahesh Kewat has been nominated for Madhya Pradesh, while M. Nagaraja is the candidate for Karnataka. Additionally, the BJP has put forward Lingaraj Patil and Raghu Kautilya for the Karnataka Legislative Council elections. Arun Singh, BJP National General Secretary, emphasized that these nominations are part of a strategy to bolster the party's organizational strength and legislative presence in both states. The selection reflects a balance between regional representation and national priorities, aiming to develop effective leadership at the state level. Madhya Pradesh is traditionally a BJP stronghold, while Karnataka is viewed as a crucial battleground for expanding the party's influence.
