The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has completed its investigation into the NEET-UG 2024 examination leak, which occurred locally in Jharkhand. The probe revealed that NTA officials had no involvement in the leak, which led to the cancellation of the exam held on May 3, 2024. The CBI arrested approximately 50 individuals, including members of a Bihar-based gang, and filed five charge sheets against key suspects, Baldev Kumar and Aman Singh, who were affiliated with a school in Hazaribagh. The agency also identified 153 beneficiaries who acted as 'solvers' and charged them for their participation. Notably, a suspect arrested by Bihar police, Sanjeev Mukhia, was not charged by the CBI due to a lack of evidence. The CBI is now investigating a separate leak reported in Rajasthan, where 15 individuals, including coaching center owners, have been detained. In response to these incidents, the NTA stated that it had implemented rigorous security protocols, including GPS tracking for exam materials and AI-assisted surveillance at examination centers.
