The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has initiated the registration process for its Bachelor of Science (BS) degree programs for 2026. Candidates can apply until May 31, 2026, via the official website, study.iitm.ac.in. The programs offered include BS in Data Science and Applications, BS in Electronic Systems, BS in Management and Data Science, and BS in Aeronautics and Space Technology. These degrees are structured to be pursued either as standalone qualifications or in conjunction with other college degrees. The courses are primarily delivered online, with in-person examinations conducted at various centers across India, ensuring both academic rigor and flexibility. This approach allows learners to progress at their own pace and offers multiple exit options, including Certificate, Diploma, or Degree pathways. Notably, students enrolled in other undergraduate programs such as BCom, BSc, BBA, or Engineering can simultaneously join these BS programs, thereby enhancing their analytical and technical skills. Prof. Prathap Haridoss, Dean (Academic Courses) at IIT Madras, emphasized that these programs are designed to meet the growing demand for interdisciplinary learning in data and technology, significantly boosting career opportunities for students.
