The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has criticized the Congress party for its delay in announcing the next Chief Minister of Kerala, labeling it a mockery of democracy. T.P. Ramakrishnan, the LDF convener, expressed that the Congress must act swiftly to honor the mandate given by voters in the recent Assembly elections. He stated that the Congress's indecision is a disservice to the electorate's wishes. Ramakrishnan also noted that the LDF has no internal disputes regarding the Leader of the Opposition and will announce its choice once the Congress finalizes its leadership. Furthermore, he accused the Congress of making administrative decisions, including personnel transfers, before the new government has taken office, which he deemed unfair. He highlighted a recent price hike in rice sold through Supplyco, asserting that such decisions require Cabinet approval. The LDF has pledged to support welfare initiatives but will oppose any actions they consider detrimental to the public.
