In Belaganj, a town in Bihar, India, police have arrested five men linked to a gangrape incident that occurred on May 1. The Superintendent of Police, Kota Kiran Kumar, reported that the victim was assaulted after mistakenly disembarking from a train near Nematpur. Upon receiving information about the assault, police secured the scene and initiated a thorough investigation, which included forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT). This team utilized technical surveillance and interrogation methods to identify and detain the suspects within 24 hours. The arrested individuals, four from Belaganj and one from Jehanabad, have criminal backgrounds, and evidence, including mobile phones used during the crime, has been collected. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment, and the police have stated that no threats have been reported by her. The investigation is ongoing, with medical reports pending.
