On Tuesday morning, a fatal accident on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway in Nuh district, Haryana, claimed the lives of five individuals, including four policemen from Uttar Pradesh and a civilian complainant. The incident occurred around 10-10:30 AM when the police SUV, a Mahindra Scorpio, reportedly lost control while attempting to overtake and collided with a heavy vehicle. The policemen were part of a team from Orai Kotwali in Jalaun district, traveling to Haryana to rescue a kidnapping victim identified as Brijendra. The deceased officers were sub-inspector Mohit Kumar Yadav (32), sub-inspector Satyabhan Singh (52), constable Ashok Kumar (28), and constable Pardeep Kumar (30). The civilian victim was Amrit Singh, also known as Amrik Singh, from Sangrur district in Punjab. Local authorities have initiated rescue operations, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations indicate that speeding may have contributed to the accident, with other factors such as driver fatigue or mechanical failure also being considered. An FIR has been filed under Section 105 of the BNS at the Tauru Sadar police station, and further investigations are underway.
