With a budget allocation of ₹400 crore (approximately $48 million USD), the initiative aims to promote higher education among girls and ease their transportation challenges, especially in rural areas. The scooters, each costing around ₹55,000, will be distributed to students from various backgrounds, including Unreserved, OBC, SC, ST, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and differently-abled categories. The distribution process is expected to be completed within the next six months, following the identification of eligible beneficiaries, which has already begun.
