To address persistent traffic congestion in northern Lucknow, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has commenced a ₹38-crore project to widen Bandha Road, which connects Pakka Pul with Sitapur Road. Currently, the road is only five metres wide and suffers from heavy traffic, leading to frequent jams, especially during peak hours. The LDA aims to expand the road to 15 metres, significantly improving traffic flow and reducing travel time for nearly 10 lakh residents of nearby areas such as Khadra, Madeyganj, and Faizullaganj. LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar has instructed officials to ensure the project's completion by December 2026. In addition to the road project, Kumar also approved the development of new sports facilities at the LDA stadium in Aliganj, including a swimming pool, an indoor badminton court, and a basketball court. Furthermore, the LDA plans to enhance existing amenities and develop a community center on vacant land near Sargam Apartment on Kursi Road, indicating a broader commitment to improving local infrastructure and recreational facilities.
