In Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, police have arrested Sanjay Mukadam (alias Dwarkaprasad Verma), a 42-year-old man, for the murder of Saritadevi Vikas Mahto, a 33-year-old woman. The victim's half-burnt body was discovered near Durgaprasad Hotel on Tuesday, leading to a swift police investigation. Mukadam, originally from Jharkhand, had allegedly developed an intimate relationship with Mahto while working alongside her husband at a local powerloom unit for over a decade. Recently, Mahto had begun to avoid Mukadam, prompting him to confront her at his home on Monday. Following a heated argument regarding her mobile phone, he allegedly killed her. Afterward, he attempted to dispose of her body by burning it with raw thread material from the powerloom. Local residents alerted the police upon discovering the remains, which were sent to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital for post-mortem and forensic analysis. The investigation continues as police work to establish the details of the murder.
