A tragic accident near Bansepur village in Mullanpur, Punjab, resulted in the deaths of two men, Ashok Yadav and Rajan, after a modified motorcycle-rickshaw overturned. The incident occurred when the driver, Damodar, reportedly lost control of the vehicle while driving at high speed. It has been alleged that the group had consumed alcohol prior to the accident. Following the incident, the police have charged Damodar with rash driving and causing death by negligence under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The victims were crushed under the vehicle and died on the spot. After Yadav's wife filed a complaint about her husband's disappearance, Aman, another occupant of the rickshaw, led the family to the accident site where the bodies were found trapped beneath the overturned vehicle. The police recovered the bodies and transferred them to the mortuary of Kharar civil hospital for post-mortem examination. This incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the tragic consequences that can arise from such behavior.
