The Gift Nifty index has opened lower today, down over 75 points from yesterday's close of 24,256, reflecting cautious sentiment in the Indian stock market due to escalating tensions in the US-Iran conflict. Vaishali Parekh, Vice President of Technical Research at Prabhudas Lilladher, indicated that the Nifty 50 index has immediate support at 24,000, and a breach below this level could weaken market sentiment further. The index is currently trading between the 24,300 and 23,800 levels, requiring a decisive move to clarify its direction. Parekh also provided stock recommendations for today, suggesting investors buy Urban Company at βΉ145 with a target of βΉ155, Cipla at βΉ1,317 with a target of βΉ1,350, and KFin Technologies at βΉ976 with a target of βΉ1,000. Meanwhile, the US Federal Reserve has opted to keep interest rates unchanged for the third consecutive time, citing elevated inflation and ongoing global uncertainties. The Fed's decision comes as tensions between the US and Iran escalate, particularly regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has contributed to rising gas prices and potential economic repercussions.
