In Mumbai, a 50-year-old man named Dilip Koli has been charged for driving on the wrong side of a one-way road in Colaba following an altercation with Dr. Nitin Salian, a local surgeon. The incident unfolded around 8am near Pushpa Bhavan when Dr. Salian noticed Koli's white SUV entering the one-way street incorrectly. After gesturing for the driver to stop, an argument ensued, during which Dr. Salian alleged that he was assaulted by two men who exited the vehicle. The Colaba police have registered a case under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to rash driving. Although Dr. Salian reported suffering bruising from the encounter, police stated that there was no serious physical assault but have filed a non-cognisable complaint based on his allegations. Dr. Salian emphasized ongoing issues with illegal parking and wrong-side driving in the area, expressing frustration over the lack of police action despite repeated complaints from residents and social media posts.
