On Saturday, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati inaugurated a new 485 kWp rooftop solar power plant at Lok Bhavan, boosting its total solar capacity to 635 kW. This project, executed by NBCC (India) Limited, includes installations across various buildings, with the largest share from the Abhishek Banquet Hall at 191 kWp. During the inauguration, the Governor highlighted the importance of transitioning to renewable energy sources to address global energy challenges and rising fuel costs. He encouraged citizens to adopt electric vehicles and emphasized the need for clean energy solutions to meet increasing electricity demands. The Governor also mentioned government support schemes like PM Surya Ghar, which help households and institutions adopt rooftop solar systems at reduced costs. Additionally, Lok Bhavan has made strides in sustainability by transitioning its official motorcade to electric vehicles, demonstrating a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
