Police in Buxar district, Bihar, have detained three suspects connected to the murder of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. Among those detained is Vishal Srivastava, a known criminal with over 22 criminal cases against him, including murder and robbery. The other two suspects are identified as Mayank Mishra and Vicky Maurya. The arrests were made following an investigation that tracked a UPI payment made by the assailants at a toll booth in Bally, near Kolkata. Rath was shot dead on the night of May 6 while in his SUV, just 200 meters from his home in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas. His driver, Buddhadeb Bera, sustained serious injuries in the attack and is currently hospitalized.
