Jack Carson, a second-year student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has been named a 2026 Udall Scholar, receiving a $7,500 award that recognizes undergraduates committed to environmental and Indigenous issues. As a member of the Cherokee Nation from Oklahoma, Carson is the first MIT student to win the scholarship for tribal policy. His multidisciplinary work spans artificial intelligence, biomedical research, and Indigenous community development.
