UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos, has called for increased dialogue with younger generations regarding the pressing global issues facing humanity. In an interview with TASS, Moratinos highlighted the importance of addressing the youth to foster understanding and collaboration on future challenges. He expressed his intention to meet with young diplomats and students at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) to facilitate this dialogue. Moratinos also shared insights from his recent participation in the Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum, where he engaged in productive discussions with various ministers, including Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, and officials from Central Asia. Reflecting on his visit to the museum dedicated to former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, Moratinos described the encounter as deeply moving. He concluded by noting the success of an interactive discussion he had with young diplomats at a library in Kazan, emphasizing the potential of the youth in shaping the future of global cooperation and understanding.
