Air India has announced temporary suspensions and frequency cuts for various international routes between June and August 2026, primarily due to ongoing airspace restrictions and record-high jet fuel prices. Major routes affected include Delhi to Chicago and Delhi to Shanghai, which will be temporarily suspended, and several others with reduced weekly flights. For instance, flights from Delhi to San Francisco will decrease from 10 to 7 weekly, while Delhi to Toronto will reduce from 10 to 5 weekly until August. Despite these changes, Air India will continue to operate over 1,200 international flights monthly across five continents. Passengers impacted by these cancellations or schedule changes will be offered alternative bookings, free date changes, or full refunds. The airline is collaborating with regulators and industry partners to restore full capacity as operating conditions improve.
