On Wednesday, the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) conducted inspections of sewage treatment plants (STPs) at seven group housing projects along the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, Haryana, India. The inspections were part of the Yamuna Action Plan, aimed at ensuring that wastewater from these projects is treated properly before being discharged. During the inspections, officials collected samples from the inlet and outlet points of the STPs for laboratory analysis. Notably, untreated wastewater was found bypassing treatment at two projects located in Sector 107 and Sector 102. In response, HSPCB issued a show-cause notice to M/s Cogent Realtors Private Limited on May 1, 2025, regarding these violations. HSPCB officials emphasized the seriousness of untreated sewage discharge violations and stated that necessary actions will follow based on the test results. This inspection is part of ongoing efforts to monitor pollution sources and mitigate contamination of the Yamuna River.
