The Delhi Police has assured the Delhi High Court that a police picket is stationed outside the home of Tarun Kumar, a 26-year-old who was murdered during Holi celebrations in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. This measure comes after the victim's family, led by his mother Laxmi Devi, expressed concerns for their safety following threats from women associated with the accused. These threats included warnings that another son would be killed if they did not withdraw their case. In response to the family's concerns, police have installed CCTV cameras in the area and have been actively removing inflammatory videos circulating online. The court noted the family's satisfaction with the police's protective measures and ordered that the local station house officer share his personal mobile number for direct communication in case of distress. The conflict originated from a March 4 incident involving an 11-year-old girl throwing a water balloon, leading to a violent altercation that resulted in Tarun's death.
