The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajasthan police has initiated an investigation into allegations of a leaked question paper for the National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) 2026. This follows intelligence received about a guess paper that circulated online, containing 120 questions that reportedly matched those in the actual examination held on May 3. The additional director general of SOG, Vishal Bansal, indicated that the guess paper, which included a total of 410 questions, was likely distributed by a coaching center or a local career counselor in Sikar district. Investigators have already interrogated 12 individuals across various districts, including Jaipur, Kota, and Jhunjhunu, as well as in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. While the investigation is ongoing, no FIR has been filed yet, and officials are still determining whether this is a case of a genuine leak or a coincidence. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the exam was conducted under strict security protocols, including GPS tracking of question papers and biometric verification of candidates. Meanwhile, the SOG is also examining potential financial transactions related to the distribution of the guess paper, with reports of a local counselor allegedly purchasing it for over ₹5 lakh (approximately $6,000 USD). The outcome of the investigation could have significant implications for the integrity of the examination process in Rajasthan.
