Mission ShakthiSAT, an initiative by Space Kidz India, has officially expanded to Sri Lanka through a partnership with Women in Management Global. This initiative is part of an all-girls lunar satellite mission that aims to empower young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The mission involves 12,000 girls from 108 countries, focusing on satellite technology, PCB design, coding, and systems engineering. During a meeting between Srimathy Kesan (founder of Space Kidz India) and Eranga Weeraratne, the importance of international cooperation in space science and innovation was emphasized. Selected students will travel to India for a training program scheduled from August 23 to September 1, 2026, where they will engage in satellite design and integration activities. The two-phase educational program is tailored for students aged 14 to 18 years, ensuring inclusivity regardless of financial or social background. Phase One will cover 21 structured modules in STEM subjects, while Phase Two will focus on satellite integration and mission preparation. With over 7,800 students already engaged globally, Mission ShakthiSAT continues to foster a global ecosystem for collaboration and innovation.
