On May 17, a tragic accident occurred in Nankhari district, Shimla, claiming the lives of Kundan Lal, aged 49, and his 16-year-old daughter Aakriti. The incident took place on the Nankhari-Punan link road as the family was returning to their village of Lauhati. The vehicle, driven by Satpal (55), veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge late Saturday night. Kundan Lal and Aakriti died on impact, while Satpal and Kundan's son Arab (12) sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving alerts about the accident, police and local residents quickly launched a rescue operation. The injured were initially transported to the Civil Hospital in Nankhari before being referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla for advanced medical care. Authorities are currently investigating the accident to determine the exact cause of the driver's loss of control.
