Manish Dwivedi, a 25-year-old merchant navy officer from Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh, India, has been missing for over ten days in Pennsylvania, USA. His family last heard from him on May 7, shortly after his vessel docked at a port. According to his father, Santosh Dwivedi, Manish sent a message at around 4 am Indian time, stating that the ship had arrived. The family became concerned when they were informed by the shipping company that he had been missing for several hours. Santosh revealed that Manish had gone to a shopping mall with two Russian colleagues on May 6 but did not return to the vessel, while the two officers did. In a desperate attempt to locate his son, Santosh has approached government officials, including Union minister Anupriya Patel, who has assured the family that efforts are underway to trace Manish. Communication has been established with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy in the United States to assist in the search.
