The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has concluded a significant five-day demolition drive in Gurugram, Haryana, India, removing over 7,500 encroachments from more than 15 colonies. This initiative was undertaken following directives from the state government and a Punjab and Haryana High Court order regarding the stilt-plus-four policy. The enforcement teams cleared over 1,500 boundary walls, 1,200 ramps, and 800 encroached green areas, among other structures, resulting in over 200 kilometers of internal roads being restored. The most extensive actions occurred in DLF Phase 1, DLF Phase 2, and Palam Vihar, where illegal fencing was removed from over 1,000 houses. The DTCP is collaborating with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to maintain these roads and ensure they remain free of encroachments. A detailed report is being prepared for submission to senior officials, and further phased actions are planned to comply with the court's directives.
